Two weeks before Lockdown began, I released a video predicting that most of us would get Covid before the crisis was over. I stand by that prediction. As I said then, this should not cause a panic, since most people won’t be that affected - in fact, half of all people who get Covid don’t show symptoms at all.
But also as I said then, I am not one of those people. I am in a vulnerable group. So this is not a hypothetical issue for me. I am at risk. And I feel for people at risk.
We are not at the beginning of the end. We are, to quote Churchill, only nearing the end of the beginning. The next phase involves balancing trying to get society going again with Covid outbreaks and the need for hospital beds for those who get sick. It’s a balancing act that will be with us for another 18 months or so.
