New videos of After Shock

I have just uploaded five new videos of my latest presentation to YouTube. See my full list of videos here.
I presented After Shock at Confex in London in March 2010. It was part of a workshop and an early version of this presentation, focused on the events industry. It has been edited and made available as five YouTube videos:
- Part 1: Introduction and the impact of technology (especially user generated content)
- Part 2: Augmented reality
- Part 3: The impact of mobile technology and institutional change on the events industry in the next decade – leading to the important question of “what do your customers do with what they buy from you?”
- Part 4: The impact of changing demographics and environmental (“green”) issues on the new world of work – especially the events industry
- Part 5: The impact of shifting social values on the world of work in the next decade
Resources available
I write prolifically (in fact my wife often complains, as I’ll sometimes jump up from the dinner table or our of bed late at night and rush to my computer to capture a thought, or write down a sentence that says exactly what I need to say in the perfect way). I am busy writing a new book – but more on that in a few weeks time.
If you’re interested in what I write, then there are three resources you need to know about. The first is my company’s blog, where I try and put 2 or 3 entries a week, at least. We write about the trends that are shaping the new world of work – you’ll really enjoy it, I think. It’s a great mix of our team’s ongoing insights, in (mostly) bite size chunks.
If you want something a bit more meaty, check out our white paper site, where we post more detailed and in depth articles, based on our ongoing research. For now, these are all available free of charge (that may change later this year, so get in now).
Finally, you can buy one of my three existing books. They were all published through Penguin South Africa, while I was living in Johannesburg. Hopefully they are easily available where you are. If not, please contact me, and we’ll make a plan to get them to you.
If you would like to use any of what I have written – for example, in your company’s in house magazine – I would be honoured. Please do let me know. If you’d like me to customise it for you, or even write something specific for you, please do let me know. I’d more than willing to do so.
Oh, and there is one other resource you might be interested in. All of my presentations are summarised into PDF format and available for download here. Enjoy.
